Drawing Lessons

Why not draw? Drawing is a natural human response like speaking, writing or reading. In teaching children or anyone to perceive visual data using five basic elements of shape they can learn how the general shape of any object is composed of those same basic elements.

Drawing is an experience that encourages growth. It is a process that can provide a type of problem solving essential to the development of a fully functioning individual. After experiencing tangible drawing success, drawing lessons have been known to help encourage a willingness to attempt other “feared” subjects . Social skills, self-esteem, and confidence can soar.

Drawing can provide a format in which students are motivated to work out problems, learn to focus and to carry a project through to completion.

Why Drawing? Drawing is one of the most relaxed, productive and enjoyable ways to communicate and to express one self. It is an integrated approach to learning using both structured and intuitive processes. In developing the building blocks of visual perception, visual spatial organization and visual discrimination through drawing our brains cannot help but transfer these skills to other tasks such as math, reading and spelling. Drawing can provide a format in which children are motivated to learn and to think.
